Implant Retained Denture
Implant supported dentures are secured by permanent dental implants in the jawbone. This ensures your denture stays put while you do things like eat and speak, but, that it can be taken out for cleaning. Between three and four dental implants will be necessary for a full lower denture, and between four and five for a full upper denture. Patients say dental implants feel much like their own natural teeth, and also that taste and smell are heightened compared to other options. Dental implants have a high success rate, and are reported to be a good choice for patients with a gag reflex that a traditional denture might otherwise set off.
How Does It Work
The first step involved is the surgical placement of implants into the bone. After this, a temporary partial or full denture can be worn for the three to six months, it takes for these implants to heal.
Just like any traditional denture journey, this is where we work together to create the smile you’re after. Over multiple visits, we’ll take measurements, select tooth shapes & colours, and create your new denture in our in-house laboratory before clipping the final product onto your dental implants.
Just like your natural teeth, your dentures require home care and regular checkups. And so our collaboration continues.
